Das Cluster Oberflächentechnologie
  The term Surface Technology describes treatment stages that go hand in hand with various production methods. It is only in recent years that these processes – some of which have very different technical origins – have become commonly referred to as Surface Technology.

The technology cluster concentrated in the Schwäbisch Gmünd region is made possible because of the surrounding highly qualified research, development and transfer facilities, vocational and training institutes, associations, corporations, specialised service providers and professional firms. As a result, practically all customary surface technologies are prominently represented in the various industries, thus warranting an extensive range of applications.
